Celebrating Musical Success

Dragonfly Education Trust held their annual Spring Concert showcasing some of Writhlington and Mendip Studio School’s finest musicians.

The delightful sounds of the String group, Senior Band, Guitar group and Choir filled the auditorium of the Dragonfly Theatre celebrating the achievement of staff and students throughout the year.

Musicians gathered together to showcase the extracurricular bands, groups and this year’s GCSE and A-level exam pieces. Guests were treated to Clarinet solos performed by Molly Grainger Hull, Year 13,  Niamh Cottle, Year 13 and Jess White, Year 13 as well as a debut performance from the new Acapella Group.

Head of Music, Jo Briggs commented:

This was a really wonderful and diverse evening of music culminating the hard work of all our students and staff over the last year. We have some really exciting projects coming up and look forward to expanding our music and performance provision for students.’

The Music department are looking forward to working on their next project with the announcement of the next Dragonfly Musical imminent.
