Mendip Studio School welcomes students from all background and the additional funding provided by the government (Pupil Premium grant) enables us to support pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds. In addition, the targeted use of the Pupil Premium grant is enabling us to deeper our understanding of teaching, learning and support strategies that are the most effective to improve learning outcomes.
We are pleased to document the impact of the spending during the academic year 2016-2017 (Dragonfly Education Trust).
Attainment and Progress: At the end of Key Stage 4 (Year 11 Summer 2017):
● We are pleased to report that the gap in progress for our disadvantaged students both within the school and compared to ‘National Other’ (2016) students is narrow.
● In maths, disadvantaged students achieved progress above that of National (2016).
● Progress scores for the Open Bucket subjects (any remaining Ebacc qualifications, other approved academic, arts or vocational qualifications) are above National (2016).
