Year 10 continued their great start to the BANES football league with a 1-0 win against Beechen Cliff. Ben R floated a ball over the top of the defender enabling last week’s man of the match, Ben S, to slot the ball home. Beechen Cliff are formidable opponents who put us out of the cup at the start of the season but our Year 10 players concentrated throughout the game, matching Beechen Cliff across the park. Sammy, Harry, Alex and Dan formed a solid defence and were collectively given “men of the match” for their performances. The team deserve this hard fought win and have proved that they have both technical and physical ability to beat their opposition.
Mr Morris, their Head of Year, stayed with the team as Mr Naunton was referee. Their presence gave the team the extra support they needed when out on the field.
