Mendip Studio School celebrates the excellent achievements of its first group of Year 11 students – 63% students achieved 5 GCSEs including English and mathematics  at A*C (now graded as 9-4), 91% achieved 2 or more science GCSE A*C and 86% secured maths GCSE at 9-4.  These are truly fantastic results and testament to the hard work, commitment and talent of our exceptional students, their parents’ support and the tireless efforts of the staff who worked with them.

Mendip Studio School is a new school, which opened in September 2015, with specialist subjects in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).  We moved into our new bespoke building with state-of-the-art facilities and industry standards, earlier this year.  The school works closely with its strong employer, Higher Education and industry links, providing the best possible opportunities for our students to have the edge over their peers as they pursue their dreams and unique futures.

Headteacher, Bruce Hain commented:

“The students are the school and these Year 11 students are the pioneers. They are brave, entrepreneurial and patient and as they prepared for their exams, they role-modelled the best possible examples of young people – they will go on to shape our world around us.  I am immensely proud of them, endlessly grateful to their teachers, support staff and the unwavering support from their parents and carers.  We will watch this space for the positive impact these students will make in the future – for themselves and for their communities.  I take my hat off to them all.”

Year 11 student, Oliver Blacklidge said:

I am so pleased with my results, I got exactly and I wanted and feel set up ready for my next step. There have been so many opportunities at Mendip and I can’t wait to see what next year brings.

Year 11 student, Sarah Moore said:

I am very happy with my results. It all starts again next year and I know I need to work hard to continue studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths but I feel ready and prepared for the challenge.
