Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to The Mendip Studio School.

The Mendip Studio School is a new small-school, 14 to 19 specialist provision within the Dragonfly Education Trust.

The school had its first GCSE and sixth form results this year – some wonderful achievements by our students including 63% 9-4 in English and maths and 86% 9-4 in maths made at GCSE and some outstanding vocational performances in the Sixth Form.

Ethos, vision and values

First and foremost, the ethos, vision and values are those of the trust that gave rise to our school: The Whole Child, Quality First Teaching and Values Driven Organisation.  Couple these with the vision for an authentic context for all learning, development of skills in employability, experimentation through the curriculum and you have an environment designed to meet the needs of all young people with an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths from 14 – 19 Years old.

In practical terms, the unique character of the school is where its vision, values and specialist provision are embedded through structures for the development of coaching and skills through vertical tutoring and Project Based Learning.  The emphasis is on a small-school, employment-focused curriculum, extracurricular and STEM specialism – this is The Mendip Studio School character.

Please do have a look at the Frequently Asked Questions section of our website to learn more and email if you would like to meet and to find out all about The Mendip Studio School, its outstanding students, facilities and what we stand for.

Looking forward to meeting you and working together to ensure the very best life chances for all of our students.
