Model United Nations Conference

This past weekend, students from Writhlington School took part in the annual Model United Nations Conference at Kingswood School in Bath. Acting as UN delegates for the Côte D’Ivoire and Venezuela, our students were required to debate and propose solutions to some of the most complex and challenging geopolitical issues facing our world today. Subjects for discussion included environmental change, global health, international conflict and disarmament and word trade and development. The students did themselves and our school proud, participating alongside students from across the country and from as far afield as Germany. Particular accolades go to Kasper and Hazel, who despite being amongst the youngest participants still received commendations in their respective Middle East and Human Rights Committees. Well done to everyone involved and a big thank you to Kingswood School for hosting such a fantastic event – we look forward to taking part next year!
