SCHOOL CLOSURE NOTIFICATION – STORM EUNICE
Following discussions with a number of different agencies and the forecasted poor weather conditions, I
have taken the decision that all Secondary Schools in the Midsomer Norton Schools’ Partnership Trust
will be closed to staff and students on Friday 18th February 2022.
Some of the schools are located in the ‘red’ warning area, specified by the MET Office. A number of
other schools are located on the fringe of the ‘red’ warning zone and as such, we cannot guarantee the
safety of children, parents or staff on school sites. In addition, members of staff may not be able to
travel to and from work safely.
Where possible, schools will be operating virtual learning systems and children should continue to work
from home. Details of the arrangements for this will come directly from your child’s school.
I appreciate this decision may be unpopular with some parents and carers. However, I have taken the
decision as early as possible to enable parents and carers to make plans and avoid last minute
disruption first thing in the morning.
